Terms and Conditions.

If for any reason we cannot repair your xbox 360, there will be no charge – providing that you have made no attempt to repair it yourself. If however, you have attempted to repair your console, there will be a £10.00 surcharge for your xbox 360.

Postage costs may be subject to change due to variation in courier charges.

If, following the first repair, the same fault arises again within the warranty period; the cost of the courier must be paid by the customer.

By sending / bringing your console to our company for repair, you are agreeing thAt aktconsultancy services can carry out the repair on the console and that you will be invoiced for the work carried out and any postage costs.

All reasonable effort will be made to contact you should the work be more extensive that first thought.

Warranty:

Your warranty covers a prefix of the type described, aktconsultancy services does not guarantee that we will be able to continue prefixing, please follow preventative measures.

When receiving your console after fix / prefix please ensure it is in good working order as any problems must be logged with aktconsultancy services within 24 hrs local drop off and 72hrs courier service of leaving our place of work.

Refunds will not be granted after this time.

In the event thAt aktconsultancy services are unable to complete refix repairs after the initial repair was successful, we cannot issue a refund for the original repair. No refunds will be issued after original successful fix.

The Sales Receipt is proof of warranty, The time span of warranty is stated on it the sales sheet.

Should this console require any further work that is covered under the warranty this receipt must be produced, Please keep it in a safe place

Should this receipt not be shown and we have available time to spend looking for your paperwork an admin fee of £10.00 will be charged.

All warranty is void should the console be opened and the warranty stickers broken.

Following a Refix, the warranty date will remain the same as in the original repair unless any other work is carried out.

Xbox 360 Repairs:

RROD repair – warranty covers this error code and no other.

Should you have problems with other error codes e.g. E74 whilst this is in warranty a reduced £20.00 fix will be charged.

E74 / AV / Heat Machine – warranty covers these error codes plus RROD.

Neither of these warranties cover Drives / Lasers etc.

Warranty is not given on Laser / Drive replacement if consoles have firmware upgrades.

Preventing the Ring of Death (RROD) and other overheating problems

Prevention is better than repair, so here is a few tips to help you.

Avoid using your Xbox 360 on carpets and beds, as fibres can get drawn in while the console is switched on causing build up around the fans.

Do not move the Xbox 360 when the power is switched on.

Always keep the console in a well ventilated area. Do not place the console in a confined space such as a bookcase, rack or stereo cabinet, unless well ventilated.

Lie flat, do not stand up on its end. (blocking vents).

Do not place the console near any heat source such as a radiator, stove or amplifier.

Finally, take a rest ! switch you console off and let it cool down. We advise you not to play for long periods (no more than 1 – 2 hrs) especially as your console is getting on a bit !

Ensure that all memory cards, hard drives, memory sticks, games, etc are removed from console, There is no requirement to send console leads, controllers or chargers unless specifically requested. Secure console with bubble wrap when preparing for postage. It is advisable to register all consoles ⁄ mobile phones before posting . If unable to repair console return postage is still requested

The Xbox 360 video game console is subject to a number of technical problems and failures that can render it unusable. Many of the issues can be identified by a series of glowing red lights flashing on the face of the console; the three flashing red lights (nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death" or "RRoD") being the most infamous. There are also other issues that arise with the console, such as discs becoming scratched in the drive and "bricking" of consoles due to dashboard updates. Since its release on November 22, 2005, many articles have appeared in the media portraying the Xbox 360's failure rates, with the latest estimate by warranty provider SquareTrade to be 23.7%, and the highest estimate being 54.2% by a Game Informer survey. There has been legal action taken attempting to hold Microsoft responsible for the Xbox 360's failure rate and provide compensation for those affected.

Three flashing red lights around the Xbox 360 power button instead of the one to four green lights indicating normal operation represent an internal problem that requires service. This error was soon nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death", "Red Lights of Death" or "Red Ring of Doom" by users, echoing Windows' Blue Screen of Death error. Warning signs may include freeze-ups, graphical problems in the middle of game play, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns on the screen, and sound errors, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. These events may happen once or several times until the hardware failure occurs, or not at all. If the console freezes occasionally, the error will not necessarily follow. The technical problems seem to affect some generations of consoles more than others. e.g. Xenon or Zephyr

This error code is usually caused by failure of one or more hardware components, although it can indicate that the console is not receiving enough power from the power supply, which can either be due to a faulty power supply or if the power supply cable is not fully inserted into the console. The 3 flashing lights can also be caused by power surges; if the console is connected to an outlet that receives a power surge, it may have a failure and the 3 lights will appear as long as the console is plugged into the outlet. Turning off the console, unplugging all power cables and plugging them back in, and restarting the console will fix the issue in this case.
